In a sense theme park holidays were considered holidays for families. This had always been thought of as more of a family holiday. Recently couples have started to embark on some more theme park holiday adventures. Now when people have a search around for holiday deals, they will find that some holidays are even more expensive, whereas these are cheaper.
Now Theme park holidays have become great contenders with all other holidays. When the prices started to fall they started to compete with St Lucia holidays or Barbados holidays. Now that they had the top accommodation, Theme parks became a strong candidate for quality luxury holidays.
The hotels just seem to get better and better at the theme parks as well. Now that they had the hotels to grab even more tourists, they now had a route into even more of the tourism industry. Disney World is probably the most successful for this; they always have offers on and even specialise in holidays for couples as well.
What could they bring to tourists next though, surely they had exhausted all other avenues? The next new thing to come just had to be weddings, so that’s what they did. Once you have a vacation location and a collection of hotels on it, the next thing to do is to offer people the chance to get married, and spend a honeymoon there. If you take it from Disney’s point of view, they will be able to get more people to come to their theme park, not to mention more money.
What does this mean for the other holidays, like spa holidays or diving holidays? Does this mean that theme parks are going to start taking over all of these as well? I wouldnt count Disney world out of this, pretty soon they will have a small ocean in the backyard for people to go diving in!
