Getting to see some places which are off the beaten track is probably one of the best things about travelling around Europe by train. Especially if you are feeing adventurous enough to leave the main railway lines and explore some of the less travelled ones. If you have no set plans and are brave enough to get rid of the guidebook you really can end up in some wonderful places that are well off the beaten track.
But not everyone likes to act in a spontaneous manner when they are on holiday. With some people they want almost every second of the trip planned beforehand and if there plan hits any setbacks they can become extremely stressed. But if you really are going to panic if you experience any setbacks then you are probably going to have a holiday which is not too good because the likelihood of setbacks is quite high. But by being a bit more spontaneous, you will be able to really get the most from your holiday and you won’t end up disappointed no matter where you end up. Not knowing where your final destination is going to be can be very exciting.
I love pulling into a railway station and just deciding at that moment to get off the train. Sometimes I just like the look of a certain place and it makes me want to get off and have a proper look around. But then again, I quite often will just get off at the next stop because I can’t be bothered to travel any further. These unexpected stops almost always end up leading to exciting adventures where I meet people and see things that would not have been possible without an impulse decision. So now, because of my spontaneity, I have friends all over the place which I wouldn’t have had otherwise.
If you have never tried just going with the flow on a holiday then I really recommend. The only thing you have to do is get on a train and see where you find yourself.
Today it has become a trend for more people to drive in their car over to their foreign holiday destination. Lots of individuals head straight to the south coast for the dover to calais ferry. Doing this means you don’t have to worry about things like the disneyland paris tickets. What better way than heading over and doing some city breaks europe?
